Fathers Against Violence will provide qualified Mentors who will advise, assist and provide support for those service users who need specific assistance in terms of the pathway areas of offending. Our scheme will focus upon empowering individuals to make positive change in relation to their specific needs.

  • A mentor will liaise in relation to the benefit system , housing needs and employment, education and training.
  • They will be able to undertake an initial basic assessment and sign post an individual to other professional agencies in relation to addiction.
  • Mentors will attend appointments with service users and support them through the process of statutory supervision.
  • Ultimately the overall aim is to reduce the risk of re-offending and harm an individual may pose whilst enabling individuals to make realistic changes and plans for the future.

The Mentor programme is an opportunity for those wishing to work in the Criminal Justice System to experience the wide range of issues that service users pose and allows the Mentors to establish links and evidence their abilities. The Programme is not only a fantastic opportunity for the service users but also the Mentors.
